Who we are

Information we collect

We keep collection deliberately narrow. In practice that means:

Information you give us. If you email us or submit the contact form, we receive your name, email address and whatever you write in the message. We use it to reply and nothing else.
Usage data. Pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, referring site, browser and device type. This is collected through analytics and advertising cookies described below.
Data you type into our tools. The SMART goal builder, career plan builder, interview pack and side-hustle check all run entirely in your browser. What you type is never transmitted to us and never leaves your device.

We do not knowingly collect payment details, government identifiers or any special category data such as health or religious information.

Advertising and Google AdSense

We fund this site with advertising. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.

Contact form messages are kept for up to 24 months so we can follow up, then deleted. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics’ own retention window. Cookie lifespans are listed in our cookie policy.

Children’s privacy

This site is written for working adults and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA and UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, email us and we will delete it.

International transfers

Our service providers, including Google, may process data in the United States and other countries. Where data leaves the UK or EEA, those transfers rely on the safeguards our providers put in place, such as standard contractual clauses.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so while we take reasonable measures to protect your information we cannot guarantee absolute security.
